Well, there is at least one person who is serving up something besides all his luvin to the Queen of Pop. That would be Girls Gone Wild Creator Joe Francis.
Well, there is at least one person who is serving up something besides all his luvin to the Queen of Pop. That would be ‘Girls Gone Wild’ creator Joe Francis, who slapped Madonna a cease and desist letter regarding her upcoming MDNA track Girls Gone Wild. The letter demands that the diva negotiate a licensing agreement for his ‘trademark’ of the brand ‘girls gone wild’ and threatens her with a lawsuit if she performs the track at the Super Bowl.
According to TMZ, the letter was sent to Madonna and her co-conspirators, NBC and the NFL, and they demand an answer by 5 PM today. Francis lawyer writes: Your misappropriation of my clients trademark will not be tolerated.
We find this pretty ridiculous ‘girls gone wild’ is a commonly used phrase these days, and does classy Mr. Francis really take his brand that seriously? Wouldn’t this, if anything, just be more publicity for Girls Gone Wild anyway?
Besides, Joe Francis would be nowhere today without all the college girls who were raised on Madge’s music videos and liberated attitude toward sex and nudity. Doesn’t he realize Madonna practically invented taking her top off for the cameras?
If anything, we think Joe Francis should have to cough up a penny to the Material Girl every time a Spring Breaker bares her chest for his site.
