Freeq is spectral filtering app, designed for easy and fast frequency manipulations. You can cut and manipulate single frequencies, transforming sounds however you like.

Freeq was originally made for steinbrchel, and in time turned into very interesting and easy to use tool. It was further tested by Stephan Mathieu:

For sound design purposes i just use very few tools, but Freeq has become an important program in my working environment. The interface design works well and the possibilities for frequency manipulations are fantastic. Many thanks to lowertone for developing this programm. I simply love working with it!

I’m currently working on a sound design for an App by a friend, using reworks of reworks I made from his music. Freeq, given to me for a test ride by Lowertone came in as a powerful, yet easy to use tool to come to grips with breaking out frequencies. While the software I’m using is set at less than a handful applications for one decade now, Freeq is a welcome addition.

Here’s what I consider an endlessly useful Ableton Collection of cassette and reel to reel tape hiss, along with vinyl crackling samples. The samples range from subtle to pretty unfortunate. They are presented as clips and in a drum rack with some useful and sometimes glitchy macro knobs.

I’ve also created an instrument rack that allows you to drop any synth inside and blend it with vinyl or tape noise, adding warmth and imperfection to the sound, giving it the effect of being sampled from tape or vinyl.

Yeco is a multi touch controller for Ableton Live. It is available for free from the download link below. It will run on Windows 32 & 64 bit. A Mac version will be available in early September. Customized versions of Yeco, custom touch midi controllers, and custom touch OSC controllers are available for a small fee.
