Cue PR agency KCD and Anna Wintour's army (a.k.a. fashion editors from the likes of Vogue, Teen Vogue and Vanity Fair), who have been called in to style the red-carpet and add a much needed infusion of media-buzz-worthy fashion. The overhaul has apparently been in the works for quite some time now, with the late Joan Rivers advising the initial push for a “more chic” carpet. With the big day just around the corner on Sunday, we're looking forward to the see just how the efforts pay off.
The first ever New York Fashion Week: Men's is almost upon us, and the sponsorship details are finally being solidified. The CFDA's director of strategic partnerships, Adam Roth, confirmed today that Cadillac will sponsor the forthcoming event, which runs from July 13-16. Following Mercedes-Benz' exit as the women's week sponsor back in January, Cadillac hopes its entry into the world of fashion will give it the reputation as the “cool and fashionable” automaker brand.

Senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus Ken Downing received the High School of Fashion Industries' Fashion Visionary Award on Friday — though he admits he wasn't all that cool in high school. ”It’s humbling,” Downing remarked as he accepted his award from CFDA president Steven Kolb. The fashion vet went on to advise students seeking a career in fashion, “humility is important in an industry of big egos.”
